SUMMARY:Port of Seattle Commission Meeting *WITH* Noise Monitors on the Agenda
DESCRIPTION:Sixteen months after launching our petition drive for noise monitors on Vashon Island\, they are finally on the agenda for a vote. \n“8c. Adoption of Motion 2019-14: a motion of the Port of Seattle Commission advancing the Miller Creek Culvert Replacement Project and providing for installation of portable noise monitors. SUMMARY:Sea-Tac Stakeholder Advisory Round Table

The stairs and elevator to the Mezzanine Level are directly behind the International ticketing counters. SUMMARY:Port of Seattle Commission Meeting
DESCRIPTION:This meeting’s agenda is again not featuring our noise monitors\, so we’re showing up to make a case for them with public comments. \nThe meeting starts at noon\, and the Public Comment period usually starts around 10 minutes in or less\, so best not to be late.  When you enter the room there is a signup sheet for public comment.  I set an end time of 1pm as the public comment period is usually done by then\, but the actual meeting can drag on all afternoon. \nEach public comment is limited to two minutes\, or sometimes three if not many people sign up to speak.  Rather than continuing to whittle down the time per speaker\, they will at some point limit the number of people who can comment\, though I’ve never seen that happen at a commission meeting.  So while not guaranteed\, you can expect two minutes and maybe three if you’re lucky.  If practicing beforehand\, it always takes longer when actually presenting so keep that in mind. \nGenerally there are two Port Commission meetings per month on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays.  The first is held at the Port of Seattle headquarters at pier 69 downtown\, and the second at the airport.  This meeting is at the Conference Center in the airport. SUMMARY:VIFS Plane Noise Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Have you noticed a huge increase in plane noise\, especially when the wind is from the South? You’re not imagining it\, the FAA has focused and lowered flight tracks over Vashon.\n\nA few years ago\, the FAA began implementing a plan to focus and lower arrival flight tracks over Vashon Island. It’s part of a program they call NextGen. \nPlease come to our meeting to learn what exactly is happening\, how it’s going to get worse if we don’t do something\, and what we’re planning to do before the peaceful and rural character of Vashon Island is completely destroyed. \nThe FAA is doing this to communities across the county; we are not alone.
